Ideas for my Care to Change video
Videos entered into the United Way Care to Change video competition should educate and inspire the viewer to help one or more of the following:
- a lonely senior;
- a bullied school-age child;
- a young child living in poverty.
Your Care to Change video will:
- Educate the audience on the issue of child bullying or child poverty or seniors isolation within BC, Canada.
- Inspire the viewer to do something about it by visiting United Way’s website at www.uwlm.ca
Many people do not know that:
- One in five children in BC under the age of six lives in poverty.
- Every month, more than one-third of children in Grades 4 to 7 are bullied or bully others.
- Social isolation affects at least ten percent of seniors living in the Lower Mainland.
“What does one of these issues mean to me and how do I care to change it?”
You could make a video about a bullied child, a lonely senior, or a child living in poverty in BC. Choose whichever one of these themes resonates best with you. We’re open to your interpretation. It could be a true story, a personal story or an imagined one…
